Horsfield's Treeshrew range |
Horsfield's Treeshrew or Javan Treeshrew (Tupaia javanica) is a species of treeshrew in the Tupaiidae family. It is endemic to Indonesia.[2]
First described by Thomas Horsfield in 1822, the habitat requirements of Horsfield's Treeshrew are still undocumented. The species can be found on several Indonesian islands: Bali, Java, West Sumatra, and Nias. Several subspecies have been proposed based on variation in colourisation; however, colour is an unreliable distinguishing character. [3]
